Alexander Zonjic “Seldom Blues” Smooth Jazz Music CD Review

Seldom Blues is the latest release from Smooth Jazz Sensation Alexander Zonjic, and is another great one by this talented musician.

Refreshingly, this was one of those CDs I was able to just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

Alexander Zonjic possesses the characteristic of being able to bowl you over with his talent alone. The kind of artist I really enjoy listening to.

CDs vs. Vinyl Records (vs. Music Downloads?)

Consider me a reverse snob: I love CDs. My music collection contains hundreds of them.

I still have four or five vinyl LPs and a couple dozen 45-rpm singles packed away somewhere, but I no longer have a turntable to play those relics on.

This makes me uncool in some music lovers eyes (or, rather, ears ). There s a sizeable number of audiophiles who disdain CDs and digital music in general and who decry the passing of vinyl as the standard medium of recorded sound.

Vinyl lovers assert that music sounds better some use the term warmer on records than on CDs. They also contend that the analog nature of vinyl records comes closer to capturing

Blues Trace: From Modern Rock to the Dawn of the Blues

The blues seems to be a hard genre of music to be into these days, especially when you re in your 20s, but its one of my passions. Few other genres can boast such pure unadulterated emotion in its rawest form. I came to the blues through modern rock, oddly enough. Growing up in the grunge and post grunge era I listened to a lot of alternative rock and more recently, bands of the garage rock movement. After hearing the White Stripes and the Strokes, I rediscovered classic rock, garage rock, and early rock and roll. From there I found the influences of rock and roll, the blues.

The New Music Marketing Model for 21st Century

A year ago, I wrote a passionate article on the merits of charging $15 when you sell your CDs. Some of my reasonings included: It’s tough for indie musicians and you have a good music, so don’t short-change yourself; you can always discount the CD for special reasons (2-for-1 special); and, the “high” sales prices also includes your various expenses. I made a few addendums, but that’s the gist of it.

But now, if you head over to http://mp3.com/thebards and check out the Brobdingnagian Bards page at MP3.com, you’ll notice something kinda hypocritical…none of our CDs are priced at $15! What gives??
